Miss Caroline I Close, a direct descendant of Thomas Close, who settled in Greenwich, Conn., in 1661, died on Sunday at her home, 78 Quincy Street, Brooklyn, at the age of 78 years. She was born on a farm in Flatbush, and had spent all her life in the same neighborhood. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation. Three nephews, Frederick Close Benson, Arthur Davis Benson and Hevlyn Dirck Benson, survive her.
